To help you comply with city and state laws and regulations,
Affiliated FM performs jurisdictional inspections as an integral
part of your B&M insurance program in North
America. While inspections involve most boilers, they may also include air
conditioning and refrigeration systems as well as pressure
vessels. Jurisdictional inspections include an examination of your equipment for
signs of leakage, corrosion, cracking, overheating, scale,
bulging and other conditions requiring corrective action.
Many state, provincial and local governments require regular
inspections of boilers and various machinery to ensure their
operating integrity. Affiliated FM assists you in meeting your
inspection obligations and maintaining the validity of jurisdictional
operating certifications. To schedule a jurisdictional inspection, please call your local Affiliated FM Office.
Affiliated FM has access to inspectors who collectively retain
more than 600 commissions in jurisdictions across North America.
These inspectors, commissioned by the National Board of Boiler
and Pressure Vessel inspectors, will work with you to identify
and reduce risks specifically associated with mechanical,
electrical and pressure systems equipment.
While state inspection and certification laws vary, the following
types of objects typically require regular routine inspection
and certification:
